How can the Colac Otway Shire Community benefit from the Geelong Heritage Centre?
The Geelong Heritage Centre (GHC) Archive is recognised as a nationally significant collection that provides community access to the recorded history of the Geelong and South West Victoria Region.
This session, presented by Mark Beasley, Manager of the GHC Collection & Services, will include an overview of what is the GHC Archive (collection) and how the Colac Otway Shire community can explore, access and source local history and heritage information from it. The presentation will also feature a few special objects from the GHC Archive and some local Colac Otway Shire records which have been in the GHC Archive for over 20 years.
The Colac Community Library and Learning Centre is a modern, state-of-the art facility built in 2010 for the Colac district community. The centre accommodates the general community, Colac Secondary College students and other learning groups including TAFE and U3A students.
