Create your own personal piece of upcycled art using a wide variety of recycled and eco-dyed materials. Learn a new skill or explore how to use known skills in different ways.

Following a career at sea as a professional fisher and marine advocate, Lyn Lambeth now focuses on creating art mainly using recycled materials to create mixed media sculptures.

A lifelong love of birds is reflected in the artwork that Lyn creates. A bird's lightweight skeletal structure and feathered outer form are well suited to the medium of wire, recycled textiles and discarded fishing gear. Lyn's representations of birds embody fragility and strength combined.

The techniques used in Lyn's sculptures are informed by time spent at sea, rope work, knotting, splicing, whipping and wire. The works evolve according to the materials at hand, while still maintaining conversations around sustainability, the environment and art.
