The Whyte Christmas Tree is decorated with handmade embroidered decorations in a variety of styles, made by members of The Embroiderers Guild, Victoria - Geelong Branch. Exhibition from 28/11-7/01
In February 2024, the Embroiderers Guild, Victoria – Geelong Branch agreed to collaborate with the National Trust Victoria to stage an exhibition at The Heights, Newtown, Geelong.
In just over four months the members of the Geelong Branch envisaged, put together and proudly staged a display of over two hundred and thirty embroidered and hand-made exhibits.
The Whyte Christmas Tree, named for the Whyte Family who owned The Heights from 1883-1975, was decorated especially for the display.
It was a group installation and involved many members in classes and in creating decorations, gift cards, and wrapping gifts.
