Navigating mis & disinformation online 1

Test your knowledge and skills as we discover how you can identify reliable information sources online.

In our current world of ‘fake news’ and misinformation, how can we find factual and reliable information online? This session will teach you how to assess online information sources quickly and efficiently. 

This is the first of a series of four workshops; it is followed by Can I Trust It? Assessing Websites, then Is That Real? AI Images and Deepfakes and lastly, Is that True? Verifying Claims Online. These may be attended separately or together.

What to expect:

• This is an educational program that includes a presentation, individual and group activities.
• You will learn about misinformation and disinformation online, some strategies to spot this unreliable information and practise how to use these strategies.
• It is facilitated by a library staff member and has a maximum of 6 participants.

• Please note that this is an online event and bookings are essential.
