Join us as we celebrate Library and Information Week with this year's extra special National Simultaneous Storytime. "Una dreams of a life in Space. Life on Earth is just so so-so. But how will she get there? And will she complete her mission to discover life in Space? And did she remember to feed Neil the goldfish?". Come along for a special presentation of "Give me Some Space", written and illustrated by Philip Bunting. Ages 3+

The Geelong West Free Library was opened in the Geelong West Town Hall by Cr John Ince, Mayor of the Borough of Geelong West on 3 July 1885. Its closure was forced in 1890 due to lack of funds but the library reopened in 1891. The Geelong West Free Library relocated in March 1939 to the old Geelong West Court House building. Following minor renovations, the Geelong West Municipal Library was officially opened in 1953 and in 1967 there was an official opening of additions to the library. On 17 October 2008, the Geelong West Library and customer service centre redevelopment was officially opened by the Hon Richard Wynne MP, Minister for Local Government and Cr Barbara H Abley AM DSJ, City of Greater Geelong.
The Geelong Regional Library Corporation acknowledges the Wadawurrung People of the Kulin nation, and the Gulidjan and Gadubanud Peoples of the Maar nations as the Original Owners of the lands on which our library services operate. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge and celebrate First Nations Peoples of this land as the custodians of learning, literacy, knowledge and story.
