Bee-keeper Tom talks about bees, honey and educating the kids!
Local apiarist and surfer Tom Earls founded Coastal Nectar to raise awareness of the hard-working bee. Coastal Nectar puts a modern twist on 9000 years of traditional beekeeping, and the business also focuses on educating children on how bees create yummy honey, how pollination works, and why bees are essential to that process.
Join us at Torquay Library to hear Tom’s story and how he created a multi-faceted business from his passion for bees and all things busy.
Located in Torquay’s Surf City Plaza, adjacent to the Surf World Museum and Community Hall, Torquay Library is a popular community gathering space, particularly for families and holidaymakers. The branch features zones for reading, studying and working, a dedicated area for children, public access PCs and free WiFi. Regular Baby, Toddler and Preschool Story Time sessions are held here, and many events and programs for adults are also run throughout the year.
