First time novelist, and recognised sports writer, Geoff Parkes, is coming to the Leopold Library to talk about his novel When the Deep, Dark Bush Swallows You Whole.
For the last twelve years Geoff Parkes has written a weekly opinion column for The Roar, Australia’s leading on-line sports website. He is perhaps best know for his writing on Rugby both online and in his books A World in Conflict: The Global Battle for Rugby Supremacy and A Year in the Life and Death of the Melbourne Rebels.
As a first time novelist he is tackling a missing woman and a townful of suspects in this bitter sweet journey back to small town, rural, New Zealand of the 1980s. When the Deep, Dark Bush Swallows You Whole is a a gripping tale full of moody scenery and character-filled places.
