Explore Flash Fiction at the Midwinter Words Writers' Weekend.

Midwinter Words, a writers’ weekend, will be held at the Boronggook Drysdale Library and the Bayview Room, Parks Hall, Portarlington on July 26 and 27.

Clare Strahan, author and lecturer at RMIT, will present a workshop exploring elements of short fiction from 10 am to 3 pm on July 26 at Boronggook Drysdale Library followed by readings from the workshop. Flash fiction writing exercises with a facilitator will be presented on July 27 in the Bayview Room at Portarlington, from 10 am including lunch.

Midwinter Words is presented in partnership with Geelong Regional Libraries.

Tickets are $75 for the weekend and can be booked from June 23 to July 18.

About the Library

The Boronggook Drysdale Library building, opened in April 2023, features communal spaces, quiet study areas, an adult changing places facility, a green roof, an internal courtyard garden, a City of Greater Geelong customer service point and resource-efficient systems. The sustainable building is a welcoming and safe space open to all.
