19 Heales St Smythesdale VIC 3351Join us at The Well in Smythesdale to craft a one-of-a-kind silk scarf dyed with eucalyptus leaves.
Take Part: Local Art is heading to The Well in Smythesdale for it's Northern Outreach sessions.
Join Catriona Sexton for a hands-on workshop exploring natural dyes extracted from eucalyptus leaves. Using wrapping and steaming techniques, participants will create unique leaf-print patterns on a silk scarf. Different eucalypt species and mordants produce a surprising range of colours.
With a science background and a passion for the local environment, Catriona brings her expertise in ecoprinting and dyeing using Smythesdale’s own eucalyptus varieties.
Take Part: Local Art is presented in partnership with Golden Plains Shire and the Geelong Regional Library Corporation. Running throughout the year, this free creative workshop series is led by local creatives and covers different forms and mediums of art.
