Stella Day Out celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature.

Proudly presented by the Stella Prize, join us for an evening of discussion with acclaimed writer and poet Evelyn Araluen. Following the success of her debut collection Dropbear, which won the Stella Prize in 2022, Evelyn’s recent collection The Rot is a searing work of hope and rage; and was awarded the highly prestigious Victorian Premier’s Literary Award earlier this year, before going on to be short listed for the 2026 Stella Prize.

About the author:

Evelyn Araluen is a Goorie and Koori poet, editor and researcher. Born and raised on Dharug Country and in the broader Western Sydney Black community, she now lives on Wurundjeri Country where she is a lecturer at the Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development, a co-editor of Overland Literary Journal and Chairperson for the Board of the Institute of Postcolonial Studies.

Tickets:

The event is free to attend but bookings are essential.

Registrations open in May.
