Joining us for a panel discussion about all areas of working in the horticulture industry.
Are you interested in a career in Horticulture?
Find out what it’s really like to work in this field by joining us for a panel discussion with local experts from The Gordon TAFE, Geelong Botanical Gardens and Valley Road Nursery.
What to expect:
- This program will be facilitated by a library staff member with a maximum of 30 people in attendance.
- The event is aimed primarily at students in their final years of high school and are looking for information on a possible career in horticulture. However, it is also open to adults who may be interested in a career change.
- This will be a panel discussion with five people who work or volunteer in the horticulture field.
- There will be set questions asked by the facilitator and the opportunity for the audience to ask questions.

Sheree Parker - Supervisor at Geelong Botanical Gardens
Bruce McGinness – Geelong Botanical Garden volunteer
Brad Wilson – Owner of Valley Road Nursery
Lizzy Beck - Qualified Horticulturalist, Greenlife Buyer at Valley Road Nursery

Waurn Ponds Library
Waurn Ponds Library is located next to LeisureLink aquatic and fitness centre, over the road from Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre. The modern building features a children’s area on the ground floor with a semi-outdoor reading deck and family room. The first floor offers flexible areas for reading and study, and large non-fiction and young adult collections. Other features include public access PCs, free WiFi, coffee and vending machines, and a meeting room for community hire. Regular Baby, Toddler and Preschool Story Time sessions are held here.
