Cricut craft workshop: halloween postcards

Discover Halloween's origins and changing traditions, explore the quirky world of vintage Halloween postcards, then create your own Halloween-inspired paper craft.
What to expect:
- This program will be facilitated by a library staff member with a maximum of 10 participants.
- This program is aimed at adults who are interested in learning more about the history and traditions of Halloween while taking part in a creative paper craft activity.
- Participants will learn about the origins of Halloween and how traditions have developed and changed across different cultures and over time. The session will then focus on vintage Halloween postcards and their use of quirky and humorous imagery to make traditionally spooky subjects more playful.
- Following the history component, participants will create their own vintage-inspired Halloween postcard using a pre-made base and a selection of pre-cut paper images. Participants will be encouraged to combine characters, settings and other elements to create their own Halloween scene.
- No previous craft experience is required and all materials are provided.

About the Library
Waurn Ponds Library is located next to LeisureLink aquatic and fitness centre, over the road from Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre. The modern building features a children’s area on the ground floor with a semi-outdoor reading deck and family room. The first floor offers flexible areas for reading and study, and large non-fiction and young adult collections. Other features include public access PCs, free WiFi, coffee and vending machines, and a meeting room for community hire. Regular Baby, Toddler and Preschool Story Time sessions are held here.
