Finding the Treasure
Finished your first draft? Congratulations.
Now the real work begins.
A completed first draft is just the start of the writing journey. Every piece of work, whether written by a novice or a multi-award-winning author, needs editing. And more than once.
Children and young adult author Sue Lawson loves the delights and discoveries that come with editing. In this practical workshop, Sue will cover editing elements including:
· copy, structural and proof edits
· ways to add more depth to your writing, no matter its genre.
· tips about working with editors and publishers.
The workshop will include discussions, sharing of ideas, techniques and resources as well as writing exercises to improve imagery, develop characters and tighten dialogue.
Sue asks participants to bring a piece of their own writing to work on during the workshop.
This editing workshop is suited to writers of all genres, including adult, children’s and nonfiction, and all levels of experience.
