Creatives of all ages are invited to join local artist Fern Smith to help create the longest book in the world!
Come along and participate in one of the many community based, pop-up creative workshops being held from September 2022 to September 2023.
“The longest book in the world” is a multi-disciplinary arts project aimed at producing a concertina book - the longest book in the world. This will be a community made travel book focusing on popular, treasured, and personal landmarks within the boundaries of the City of Greater Geelong to produce the longest book in the world. Geelong aims to beat the last recorded length of a concertina book of 814.26 metres created by Yang Shuanming of in Taiyuan, Shanxi China in 2019 (as recorded in the Guinness Book of records).
This is a free creative workshop. All are welcome and materials will be supplied.
Supported by Geelong Writers Inc and Geelong Regional Libraries.
Workshops are held on the lands of the Wathaurong people, and we wish to acknowledge them as Traditional Owners.
