Local Word Writers Festival is an annual two-day event of local writers presenting workshops, presentations and author in-conversations for writers and readers.
This short workshop is aimed at debut novelists and self-published writers who aspire to mainstream publication, looking at aspects such as show-don’t-tell, clunky prose and how to fix it, what is genre?, how plot works, developing your lead character, point of view, and structure & form. It will also examine the writer’s life – an honest breakdown of the hours spent creating long fiction.
Liz Monument is a novelist, fiction editor and writing coach based in Geelong. She works hand-in-hand with selected international fiction agencies to accelerate the submission process for writers of talent.
*Up to 20 participants | *Suitable for complete beginners to experienced writers aged 16+
