Story Dogs are a volunteer organisation who aim to make reading fun for children, so they become confident, lifelong readers. All dog teams are accredited and approved for this program. Ages 8+
Bookings are essential to save your place in the program. There is a maximum of 6 children per session, please book for the children attending.
Story Dogs is an approved reading program and sessions will take place in a quiet part of the library. The dogs are kept on a leash at all times. Children are asked not to touch the dogs and to be guided by all instructions given by the volunteer.
Please cancel your booking if anyone in your group is unwell on the day of the program, or if you are no longer able to attend so we can contact our waitlist.
Bookings close one day prior to the session. If you require assistance, please contact library staff.
Children must be supervised by a responsible person (adult or carer) in our libraries and our programs.

Newcomb Library is a popular community gathering space and is situated within a busy shopping precinct. The branch features a range of services and facilities including public access PCs, free WiFi, zones for reading, study and working, and a large meeting room available for community hire. Regular Baby, Toddler and Preschool Story Time sessions are held here, and events and lifelong learning programs for adults are run throughout the year.
