Drop in for a relaxing yarn with friends. Bring your own project or use our supplies to get started. All skill levels are welcome.
Whether you’re crazy about crochet, a nifty knitter, an expert embroiderer or a beginner who just wants to learn, everyone is welcome.
What to expect:
- This is a social group that meets to knit, sew, crochet and chat together, working on individual projects. It is supported by a library staff member with a group size of 5-15.
- Mingle with fellow makers, share tips, swap stories, and get inspired by the collective creativity around you.
- Bring your own project or use our supplies to get started. If you are a beginner, the other group members will teach you the basics.
- This is a regular monthly program.
- Bookings: Bookings are not required.
- You are welcome to drop in on the day!

About the Library
The Lara Library is conveniently located next to Austin Park, in a central community hub shared with the Maternal Child Health Centre, Lara Kindergarten and Lara Community Centre. The branch features zones for children and young people, study and reading areas, public access PCs, free WiFi and two Apple iMac computers. Regular Baby, Toddler and Preschool Story Time sessions are held here, and events and programs for adults are also run throughout the year.
