Bad Art Night

Inspired by Impressionists

If you have absolutely no artistic talent at all, then this is for you! Join us for a Wednesday evening at the library like no other as you let your creative side run wild.

Rest assured - this is a no pressure, judgement free evening, where you are encouraged to create the worst kind of art you can come up with. No skill necessary and everyone will leave with a truly -original- piece of art.

So, leave your artistic flare at home, bring along your enthusiasm and let's get making! This session we'll be taking inspiration from the Impressionist period to celebrate the Geelong Gallery's exhibition 'Discovering the Impressionists: Paul Durand-Ruel, art dealer among the artists'

How it works:

Set up on the ground floor of the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre on tables and chairs.
A lot of materials provided for you to use - recycled library items (such as old magazines and books!) as well as pastels, scissors, glue, and glitter!
You will then have 1 hour to create the worst artwork you can.
After time is up - you will name your artwork then walk around and look at each others.
Everyone then must write down the name of there favourite bad artwork.
The creator of the artwork which gets the most votes wins the 'bad artwork prize' which will be revealed on the evening!

So, leave your artistic flare at home, bring along your enthusiasm and let's get making!
