Children's AreaMeet a trained Story Dog and their owner and listen to some stories read by a library staff member. This is a group session. Ages 8+
What to expect:
- This is a school holiday program for children aged 8 years and older facilitated by a library staff member with an expected group size of 3-10.
- Story Dogs is a reading program delivered by trained staff and dogs.
- Children are invited to join in with the group and:
- listen to stories read by the library staff member
- meet a Story Dog and their owner
- ask questions about the Story Dog - Dogs are kept on a leash at all times.
- Children are asked not to touch the dogs and to be guided by all instructions given by the Story Dogs staff member.
Bookings and supervision:
- Children must be supervised by a responsible person (adult or carer) in our libraries and our programs.
- Bookings are not required for this group session - feel free to drop in on the day.

This busy and vibrant branch serves Geelong’s northern suburbs. Highlights of this branch include zoned areas for study, reading and children’s activities, bilingual picture books, LOTE (Languages other than English) magazines, a learning English collection, World DVDs and a parenting collection. The library has a large meeting room for community hire, a range of accessibility features and a dedicated makerspace enabling discovery and creativity. Regular Baby, Toddler, Inclusive and Preschool Story Time sessions are held here, as well as events and programs for adults taking place throughout the year.
