Calling artists and creative legends. Get hands on with painting, origami, cut and pasting, and all things art and craft. Activities vary each week. Let your imaginations fly! Recommended ages 5+
What to expect
The session offers art and craft activities that vary each week. Activities will often cater for different skill levels and interests. Children are invited to join in with craft activities together with a parent or carer.
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Painting
- Drawing
- Collaging
- Recycled item craft
- Origami
- Paper craft
- Creative technology
The program is facilitated by a library staff member.
At Lara Library the group size can vary between 5 and 15 children, depending on who turns up on the day.
The content is designed for children aged 5+ but all ages are welcome.
Bookings and supervision
Children must be supervised by a responsible person (adult or carer) in our libraries and our programs.
Bookings not required. You can drop in on the day!

About the Library
The Lara Library is conveniently located next to Austin Park, in a central community hub shared with the Maternal Child Health Centre, Lara Kindergarten and Lara Community Centre. The branch features zones for children and young people, study and reading areas, public access PCs, free WiFi and two Apple iMac computers. Regular Baby, Toddler and Preschool Story Time sessions are held here, and events and programs for adults are also run throughout the year.
