There is a lot of AI generated content online. Every day it becomes harder to tell the difference between real images and ones that have been created using AI or Deepfake technology. This session will investigate strategies for identifying what is AI generated online.
This is the third of a series of four workshops; the first is Is This Fake News? Knowing Your Sources Online, the second is Can I Trust It? Assessing Websites and the fourth is Is that True? Verifying Claims Online.
These may be attended separately or together.
What to expect:
- This is an educational program that includes a presentation, individual and group activities.
- You will learn about Artificial Intelligence (AI) images and video content, and some strategies that can be used to spot and avoid it.
- It is facilitated by a library staff member and has an expected attendance of up to 15 participants.

About the Library
This busy and vibrant branch serves Geelong’s northern suburbs. Highlights of this branch include zoned areas for study, reading and children’s activities, bilingual picture books, LOTE (Languages other than English) magazines, a learning English collection, World DVDs and a parenting collection. The library has a large meeting room for community hire, a range of accessibility features and a dedicated makerspace enabling discovery and creativity. Regular Baby, Toddler, Inclusive and Preschool Story Time sessions are held here, as well as events and programs for adults taking place throughout the year.
