Would you like to record your personal memory of Geelong and save it for future generations?
'Hello Machines' are interactive vintage telephones that can record people's personal stories for others to enjoy. As part of the Hello Geelong project, these telephones will be on display in various Geelong Regional Libraries with accompanying furniture such as telephone seats, as if the telephones are situated within a private home.
By picking up the receiver, participants will be invited to talk to an 'Interactive Voice Response Chat Bot', which will prompt them with questions about their memories of Geelong. These memories will be added to a collection that will then be accessible through the 'Hello Geelong' payphone booth, which will be located at Ki-kirri-ngitj – ground floor Geelong Library & Heritage Centre.
A Hello Machine will be located at Kim barne thaliyu / Geelong Heritage Centre - level 3 Geelong Library & Heritage Centre. Please note the opening hours for level 3 are Tuesday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 10am-1pm.
