This event is part of the Great Australian Bookshop Tour - four months, four hundred events, bookshops and libraries from Darwin to Devonport, Brisbane to Broome!
Anne Buist and Graeme Simsion are both novelists: Graeme’s Rosie Project series has sold over six million copies in forty languages and won ABIA book of the year. Anne’s five crime novels have been published in Australia and overseas, and their first joint effort, Two Steps Forward, a story of walking and renewal, was an international bestseller, sold to fourteen countries with movie rights optioned in the United States.
Their latest novel, The Glass House, is set in an acute psychiatric ward: it's a medical drama with a psychiatric twist, illuminated by Anne’s 35 years experience as a psychiatrist and Graeme’s deft handling of weighty topics such as mental health.
In this author talk Anne and Graeme will talk about their books, the challenges of writing as a couple and their mission to visit every bookshop in Australia. And (almost) anything you want to ask them!
This event is part of the www.greataustralianbookshoptour.com.au and will include a reading from local emerging author Kgshak Akec at the beginning of the event. Born in South Sudan, Kgshak moved to Australia with her family as six year old, speaking only Arabic. Twenty years later, her novel, Hopeless Kingdom, was shortlisted for the 2023 Miles Franklin Literary Award.
If you need any assistance in order to participate in this event, please contact events@grlc.vic.gov.au at least two weeks prior to the event date.
