Local Word Writers Festival is an annual three-day event of local writers presenting workshops, presentations and author in-conversations for writers and readers.
A well-produced coffee table book is more than just a book - it is both covetable & collectible. With their beautiful finishes, aspirational images, and carefully crafted prose, coffee table books have long been a source of inspiration for readers and collectors alike.
In this session we explore the human urge to ‘make special’ and to capture what is it that moves us – be it art, design or nature – and to share it with others in a beautiful and permanent way so that we can enjoy it in our own homes.
Join well known contemporary artist and acclaimed author of Mosaicism: Thinking in Mosaic, Helen Bodycomb; founder of Modernist Australia, an online archive of local Mid-Century architecture, and author of The New Modernist House, Patricia Callan; and Anthony Car, creator of Waterfalls of the Otway Ranges, which documents and covers the 226 waterfalls located in the Otway Ranges; for a discussion on the unique aspects of coffee table publishing and how you can use this format to share your passion with the world. Panel Chair is local writer Abigayle Carmody.
Tickets $20pp OR $10pp for library members (free to join).
