Presented in partnership with Overflow Theatre Company
Based on the workshops of Trevor Nunn and John Barton, the 'Playing Shakespeare' workshops, this session will offer Geelong bibliophiles, Shakespeare fans & actors a chance to engage with and workshop the works of the Bard. No Fear in Shakespeare: Breaking Down Barriers to the Bard is a discussion on the accessibility of theatre and the tools we have lost over the years to connecting with these timeless pieces.
The evening will be led by Overflow Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Molly England, who alongside some of Geelong’s actor’s will perform and discuss sections of Shakespeare work across Histories, Tragedies and Comedies.
Attendees will also be offered the opportunity to work through and present snippets of Shakespeare's text, working with director Molly England and Shakespearian actors to get a taste of what the Globe Theatre must have been like.
Born on the unceded lands of the Wathaurong People of the Kulin Nation, Overflow Theatre Company is an independent performing arts collective led by Artistic Director Molly England, producing and performing new and classic works that speak to the dynamic world we live in.
