Local Word Writers Festival is an annual three-day event of local writers presenting workshops, presentations and panel discussions for writers and readers.
In light of the increasing popularity of crime writing in Australia, this talented panel of local crime writers will explore why we are drawn to both writing and reading crime fiction, and speak honestly about their individual journeys and the challenges they have faced in balancing their creative endeavours with the demands of daily life.
Each author is a local writer, drawing on aspects of their respective environments and community for setting, plot and character.
Featuring Rick Wilkinson, award-winning Australian geologist turned journalist/author of The Maw of the Beast; Christine Keighery (who also writes as Chrissie Perry), children’s and YA author and author of The Half Brother; and Stuart Rosson, ex-science journalist and naturopath, and author of Framed: The “True” Story of the Theft of Picasso’s Weeping Woman. This panel discussion will be led by Lindy Cameron, crime author and founder of Clan Destine Press.
Tickets $20pp OR $10pp for library members (free to join).
