Activity Room (Level 1)The Food 4 Future program is a free program for young people, including practical life skills, a take-home meal, fresh veggie box, food handling information and a free kitchen kit! Ages:15-24
Food 4 Future brings young people together in a series of free workshops incorporating important life skills such as food planning, budgeting, food shopping, and meal preparation.
All three workshops will be presented in the one 3-hour session (with breaks).
Workshop 1: Food around you
- You will learn tips for food shopping and reading labels, as well as where to access free and low-cost food in your neighbourhood. Includes FREE lunch and a take-home meal from Feed Me Bellarine.
Workshop 2: Food handling
- We will support you to complete the Victorian Government’s free online modules in food handling, DoFoodSafely, which teaches important food safety information and can help prepare you for jobs in hospitality. (Please note: the program no longer provides an accredited Food Handling Certificate)
Workshop 3: How to make a meal
- You will receive a FREE fresh veggie box from Common Ground Project and learn about meal planning, preparation, recipes and budgeting.
