Explore your creative side in this casual play reading with others!
In honour of National Reconciliation Week (27 May - 3 June), we will be reading No Sugar by Noongar man Jack Davis. This play is set during the period of assimilation in Australia and explores the lives of Indigenous people who were sent to live on missions. It explores themes of racism, colonisation and power.
Characters will be drawn out of a hat at the beginning of the session and people are encouraged to to use as much (or as little) creative flair in their characterisation. After the play reading, there will be time to reflect on the work and our experience of acting these roles from the comfort of our armchairs.
