This workshop will kick-start participants from scratch with ideas and inspiration.
A session for those who may not have any writing underway and are seeking a way ‘in’. It covers all the building blocks of a novel: character, dialogue, setting and plot. Each segment has fun exercises designed to stimulate the thinking of participants about how these areas work, providing them some writing tools with which to develop their own work.
Presenter Alicia Thompson has a Masters in Creative Writing and has published reviews, travel articles and short stories internationally in ezines and journals. Her novel Something Else was released by NineStar Press in October 2021. She is currently working on two mystery/crime novels.
A short break will be provided mid-way through the workshop, coffee and tea will be provided. Some prior efforts at writing would be preferable but not necessary.
$30pp or $20 for Geelong Regional Libraries Members (free to join), or $10 Concession/Students.
