Join us for this special preview event ahead of the 2020 Word for Word National Non-Fiction Festival.

This year’s festival theme is Life, Changing and in this event we'll discuss multiculturalism in Australia, the heartbreaking choice to start a new life, the struggles in adapting to a new home and the ties that bind to a homeland.

Author Christopher Raja has written an affecting portrait of one family's search for home, Into the Suburbs. Olympia Panagiotopoulos has written an evocative exploration of the ties that bind in her memoir of food, family and Greece, Beneath the Fig Leaves. Chris and Olympia will be joined on the panel by Panel Moderator Harriet Gaffney, award winning writer, scholar and arts administrator.
